Plush Consignments

Every story has an ending…

March 31, 2016

It is with mixed emotions that I write this post.

Plush Consignments will be closing its retail location as of approximately May 15, 2016, and will be transitioning to online-only sales.

Unfortunately, with last summer’s drop in gas prices, I saw a huge drop in business for the first time in 4 years. I kept trying to keep it going for about 9 months now hoping it would turn back around, but I finally had to face the inevitable – that business was not picking back up.

Fortunately, eBay and other online sales platforms have helped keep me open this long, so that is where I will be focusing my energy for the time being. My daughter is turning 2 in a few days, and this will also allow me the chance to spend more time with her while still earning some income.

Over the past 4 years in business, I have met some amazing women. I have been honored to hear life stories, good and bad, see your children grow, congratulate you on new babies or grandbabies, weddings, moves, new houses, even new businesses. You’ve been there to see not only my business, but also my baby girl grow! Hopefully, I have inspired many of you with the dressing room inspirational words boards, by encouraging you to try something outside of your comfort zone, by lifting you up with words of encouragement. Hopefully, I helped positively change how you see yourselves…for the beautiful, curvaceous, strong women you are. heart emoticon heart emoticon heart emoticon

And now for the business-y stuff:

Over the next month, I will have some sales to try to reduce inventory. Any remaining inventory will then be transferred to Kellie’s Consignments in Okemos at her new, massive location on Marsh Road behind Wheat Jewelers.

If you are a current consignor (meaning you have consigned new items with me on or after February 1, 2016) I would appreciate it if items were left to carry out their consignment period, or until April 30, whichever comes first. If you would like to pick up unsold items that you consigned after February 1, please contact me via phone, email, or private message on Facebook to arrange a pickup date. If they are items you don’t want back, that’s totally fine to leave them here, too!

If you have a balance from any consignment period, you may use any remaining balance as in-store credit PLUS receive an additional 10% off your purchase if you use the entire amount in-store. If you do not wish to use it as in-store credit, then I have to humbly ask that you give me some time to make payments after I close the store. All store-owned inventory that goes to Kellie’s Consignments will be sold there and will be used to pay any outstanding debts, including consignors who want a check instead of using their balance as in-store credit.

I greatly appreciate your patience and understanding during this time! Thank you for the support over the past 4 years. Please be sure to keep following us on Facebook because I will be posting items for sale on here and on the following platforms:
